Race Details
  • USATF Sanctioned EventPre-race Registration - $15 online (until July 9th) or by mail (until July 5th). Sorry no refunds
  • Race-day Registration - $20 - Opens at 7:30 AM
  • Registration options: Race t-shirts for $5. Summit parking passes $3.
  • Yummy post race food and awards at the summit parking lot (at the finish area)
  • Bag transport provided so you can have warm/dry clothes at the post race festivities
  • Please make arrangements for transportation down the mountain (most likely the same way you got up the mountain… with your own two feet!)
  • NEW Professional Race Photographer We are excited to have Pat Hendrick, professional race photographer, at the hill climbs this year. Race photos will be available for purchase via an online website a few days after the race (save your race number to find your photos).


  • Course
  • Route: Start at the State Park entrance, run up the paved Auto Road 3.7 miles, finish at the summit parking lot.
  • One water stop on the course, approximately half-way up the mountain
  • A USATF Sanctioned Event. Headphones are permitted (per updated USATF rules) but baby strollers are strictly forbidden in the race


  • Categories & Prizes
  • Overall - Top 3 male and female runners
  • Age group - First place male and female (Categories: Under20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)
  • Bonus awards for the oldest and youngest finishers
  • This is race 6 of 6 in the USATF-NE Mountain Running Series.
    Complete all 6 races to become a Mountain Goat and bypass the Mt. Washington Road race lottery for 2013!
  • Ready for the Ascutney Uphill Challenge? Cash prize plus merchandise for the fastest combined times (male and female) for the Ascutney Run (this race) and the Ascutney Bike Hill Climb the day before. Just compete in both races to be eligible (no additional entry fee or registration). Past Results

    Directions & Park Info
  • From I-91 (Exit 8): Go .2 miles E on Rt 131 to stop light, turn left on Rt 5 for 1.2 miles, then bear left on Rt 44A for 1 mile
  • Free parking is available in the field across from the state park (near the start)
  • Limited parking at summit parking lot near the finish line and also the location of post race festivities (awards, food, etc). $3.00 per vehicle to drive up the auto road. First come, first served
  • Mt. Ascutney State Park requires dogs to be on a leash and they must have a rabies tag
